The Studio
Harebrained Schemes Studios is centered on deep collaboration between seasoned veterans and fresh talent who share a passion for crafting game worlds and delighting our audience. We focus on creating strategy games that will disrupt the market with an innovative blend of tactical gameplay and emotionally powerful storytelling. HBS games challenge your mind and touch your heart. Founded in 2011, we are best known for our award-winning games including Shadowrun Returns (2013), Shadowrun: Dragonfall (2014) and Shadowrun Hong Kong (2015). After working with Paradox Interactive as our publisher for our latest release of BATTLETECH, we became an official member of the Paradox family in 2018.
The Team
Our studio offers the opportunity to make amazing game experiences with co-workers who are just as passionate as you about making games. With easy access to studio leadership and small teams of 20-35 members, individuals are encouraged to have a growth-mindset and are given the ability to make a significant impact on the projects they work on. We strive for a work-life balance with a Work-Family that doesn’t replace your Family-Family, and are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
The Location
The studio is located in Kirkland WA, an ideal location to take advantage of both the city of Seattle and the surrounding Puget Sound area. With gamer-centric offerings like PAX West, Geek Girl Con, Emerald City Comic Con, and video/board gamer lounges, as well as a best-in-class restaurant scene, day trips to the mountains or islands, and terrific coffee on every corner, it’s a great place to work and live! http://harebrained-schemes.com/
Our Culture
In November 2016, we gathered the entire company for a four day conference in Malta. The focus of the conference was to discuss company direction, discuss our internal goals, and also put into words the company culture we are so keen to keep as we continue to grow. Together, we decided that the following cultural pillars are what makes up the foundation of Paradox:
- DEDICATED
- PASSIONATE
- GET SHIT DONE
- OPEN-MINDED
- NERDY
