Programming Manager - Operations

We are now looking for a programming manager to work with the various teams responsible for the online & offline technologies that are used in Paradox games and surrounding platforms. At DevOps we are in charge of a wide set of features and products including the Paradox Account, cross-platform multiplayer technology, social/player features (leaderboards, cloud saves, etc.), the Paradox Plaza store, the forums, as well as the game SDK that exposes these features to our games, and many others!

This role comes with a lot of responsibility; you will be expected to not only be the manager of the programmers in DevOps but also be a developer when not handling managerial tasks. You will be part of the DevOps leadership team to make sure we keep on top of changes and shifts from the game teams to whom we provide our systems and services to. In your role you will also work and contribute towards the bigger Paradox culture improving our position as a great place to work.



  • Managerial responsibilities for a portion of the programmers in DevOps. Coach and mentor individuals, regular 1-on-1 discussions, establish and support objectives in career development by applying servant leadership
  • Help identify hiring requirements for continued team growth, both for permanent and limited term contracts
  • Help shape continuous improvement of our development process and automation in our agile environment
  • Work as a developer, either C#/C++, Automation, or JavaScript (~30% of time) as part of one of our product teams

Required Qualifications

  • Proven track record of leading development teams to successful delivery whilst still reaching higher levels of performing teams
  • You come from a background where you’ve designed software architecture in C++, C#, and/or JavaScript
  • You are comfortable with English, both written and spoken

Generally required qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Bachelor degree or comparable professional experience
  • Comfortable with a range of programming languages and technologies
  • Experience with agile development
  • Proficient with code versioning tools, such as Git

We believe you are a service-minded, driven, and explorative individual; you don't have problems with making decisions and handling the responsibilities that comes with it. You are used to solving problems and working independently as well as in a group. Your role in a team is flexible and can include being the one who identifies viable solutions and implements appropriate solutions. Your English communications skills, both verbal and oral, are excellent and are backed by patience in taking the time to understand others.

Reports to: Technical Director

Location: This position is based in Stockholm
