User Researcher

Are you interested in Games, Human-Computer Interaction, and how to best combine the two? Then come join the User Research team at Paradox interactive, and help us make our games better!

Paradox’s User Research team does user experience research for all our products, both developed and published by Paradox. As a User Researcher, you will be responsible for conducting a variety of research activities. Your research will support the decision-making of game developers as well as game marketers.

You will also get to take an active role in developing our methodology, testing environment, and help us build the best User Research team possible.


  • Conduct user research on a variety of Paradox games and products
  • Choose the methods that will help game teams the most - user studies, focus groups, surveys, user review analyses, etc.
  • Look for better ways for the research team to collect, analyze and present research data
  • Communicate research findings to game teams and other stakeholders at Paradox Interactive


  • Experience in experimental psychology, cognitive psychology, human-computer interaction, or equivalent
  • Experience with a wide range of research methodologies
  • Experience with information design, usability design, game development or other interactive media related fields
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills (English)

Additional Qualifications

  • Planning and management skills are considered an advantage
  • Knowledge or interest in programming will be considered an advantage (we like building tools that make our lives easier)
  • Experience working with JIRA or other bug tracking software will be considered an advantage

On a personal level you enjoy helping others succeed. You find communication with people of different professions (game design, production, marketing) inspiring, even in cases when you have to deliver results that may not be what the teams want to hear. You understand that game development follows an aggressive schedule and enjoy performing the balancing act between conducting sound research and delivering results quickly. You are passionate about games and are familiar and/or interested in Paradox games.

Scope: Full time and permanent
Reports to: User Research manager
Location: Stockholm
