We are now looking for a Legal Counsel who shares our passion for video games! This is a great opportunity to be part of an interesting, successful and fast growing video game developer and publisher, and have a lot of fun at the same time.

About the role

As Legal Counsel at Paradox, you will be working with many various tasks, from drafting and administering contracts to providing legal advice to different departments of the company, primarily the different development studios as well as Sales, Partner Management, Business Development, Analytics and IT. We are a small but flexible legal department so we will to some extent be able to customize the role after your expertise and preferences, but you should nevertheless tick these boxes:

Desired skills and experiences:

  • Swedish law degree
  • 2-4 years post qualification experience, ideally within intellectual property rights and commercial agreements
  • Great communication skills in Swedish and English
  • You should be creative and like to solve problems on your own as well as together with others
  • Experience within the video gaming industry is beneficial, and at least a curiosity of the industry or gaming itself is a must
  • Experience within labor law, marketing law and competition law is a merit

As a person we think you are able to work independently, take your own initiatives and find new solutions. It is important that you are both thorough and business-orientated. At the Legal department we need to work swiftly, answering last minute questions and finding compromises with different parts of the organisation and external parties. You should not be a stranger to taking on any tasks entrusted with the Legal Department. Paradox grows a lot and will probably keep doing so, meaning that you should also be prepared to grow in your role and add responsibilities. 

Together with the other two lawyers and the paralegal, you will form the Legal Department which is part of the Corporate Services together with Finance, People & Performance, IT and Office Management.
