As Public Relations Manager, you’re responsible for leading and coordinating PR efforts for a defined portfolio of products and brands within Paradox Interactive’s catalog of games. You’re the default point of contact and person in charge of everything PR-related for the teams working on your assigned games; from defining PR strategies and campaigns to coordinating day-to-day operations. You’re part of the larger PR & Communications team within Marketing, and you report to the Head of Communications.

You work in close collaboration with the Product Marketing Managers in charge of the games you’re attached to. You’re not an isolated resource handling all operations yourself. In order to achieve the objectives set for the games you are in charge of, you coordinate with a set of PR contractors and agencies attached to Paradox; both to cover various local markets, and to leverage key expertise required for your plans. A key skill to succeed in this role is a strong ability to identify when and what to delegate. You should know what can and should be handled by yourself, with efficiency and costs in mind, and when and what to delegate to the external resources described above. 

Summary of key responsibilities

  • Conceive, plan, budget, and lead the PR strategies & campaigns for your assigned products and brands, putting the emphasis on leveraging external resources (agencies, freelancers, contractors) at your disposal. 
  • Coordinate with your product marketing team, other departments in Paradox, as well as various internal and external partners. 
  • Handle day-to-day PR requests and needs from your assigned product teams (copywriting, press releases, crisis communications, analysis of media coverage, media training for public speakers, answering inquiries from media, etc.).
  • Ensure regular proactive and reactive reporting on your activities for your management, teams, and partners.

Required qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in communications and PR in the game industry, or relevant adjacent fields. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a proven capacity to collaborate and coordinate with multiple teams & partners internationally. 
  • Solid and reliable project management capabilities, and a problem-solving-oriented mindset.
  • Specific interest in and knowledge of Paradox Interactive games is an obvious plus.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, additional languages are a plus.
