Community Manager

As a community manager, you are the voice of the brand in the community, and the voice of our fans on the marketing team. Your responsibility is cultivating, growing and activating the community surrounding your assigned brands, increasing the size of our owned audience and the impact of our marketing. You are an active participant in the discussion on forums and social media and function as one of our primary “faces” of the brand. You take part in live streams and other marketing activities, and you are expected to cultivate a following of your own as a key representative of the brand.

You are also responsible for measuring the success rate of our content and community campaigns, and feeding community input back to the marketing and development teams. This gives you an important role in shaping future development of our products.

You report to the community/performance marketing manager, with the marketing team PMM responsible for budgeting and allocating your time between projects. In day-to-day-operations, you work closely with the marketing team producer (to plan announcements and to make sure our content reaches its full potential in terms of community reach and engagement), the marketing team partner manager (to ensure community initiatives support the project sales strategy) and the team performance marketer (to make sure we are reaching our intended target audience).

The community manager is responsible for all owned media channels associated with the brand (Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Paradox Forum etc) and is expected to set and execute on growth strategies for all of them.

The community manager is also responsible for day-to-day execution on the marketing team content roll-out plan, i.e making sure content is posted and announcements are made as planned and on all relevant channels.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage, grow and cultivate healthy communities for assigned brands
  • Initiate new and innovative community activities to increase engagement
  • Set and execute on channel growth strategies
  • Manage all communications through owned channels (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Forum etc) – the “voice” of the brand
  • Copywriting for campaign websites, patch notes and similar
  • Feed actionable community feedback to marketing teams and developers
  • Co-ordinate announcements, content posts and day-to-day planning with stakeholders (content producer, PMM, partner manager, PR agency, performance marketer)
  • Manage freelance community moderators

Required qualifications

  • Experience building and nurturing audiences in social media and creating lively, engaging content for a consumer audience
  • A deep understanding of and interest in video game culture and communities
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Interest in and experience with the games developed by Paradox Development Studio is preferrable
  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop and video editing tools is preferable, but not necessary

Scope: Full time and permanent
Reports to: Community and performance marketing manager
Location: This position is based in Stockholm
