Do you want to make a big difference at a small studio? Paradox is on an ambitious journey to explore and expand on Grand Strategy Games, a genre we invented and want to take to new heights. To do this, we are looking for an outsourcing artist at Paradox Thalassic to help make sure our games live up to their vast potential.

About the role

The Outsourcing Artist is a new role at the Paradox Thalassic studio in close collaboration with PDS Red. You will be responsible for building and supporting our capacity to do art outsourcing by analysing the studio art department needs, processes and pipelines. You will help us find the best partners, build relationships as well as establish new pipelines and evaluate art content being delivered to meet the needs of our growing organisation. Having an art background is key as we also intend for this role to be actively involved in tweaking and implementing assets that get delivered when needed.

In this role you will work closely with multiple internal stakeholders; Your main points of contact will be the Art Directors, Game Directors and Producers. 


  • Vet and evaluate new and existing outsourcing partners
  • Facilitate good collaboration and feedback between game team, producers and outsourcing partners
  • Develop processes for briefs, documentation, concept art, reviews, feedback, approval and implementation of delivered assets
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues in the outsourcing pipelines
  • See the whole pipeline through from order of outsourced assets to final tweaking and implementation in the game


  • Art generalist background from the games industry
  • Technical savviness to be able to identify and remedy pipeline issues for implemented content
  • Fluency in English both written and spoken
  • Relevant higher education

Bonus points for...

  • Experience in similar roles
  • Experience working with 3D sculpting characters 
  • Passion for video games
