Business Developer

Do you have a knack of identifying viable business cases and the ability to take exciting ideas to the stage of where they are possible to execute on? Setting up an office in Hong Kong? Licensing the Stellaris IP to make a movie? Let's just say lack of ideas isn't our main challenge.

As a Business Developer at Paradox you will focus on new business initiatives generated within the company, as well as external opportunities. This position will have a special emphasis on new business opportunities for our roleplaying game & book publisher White Wolf. The end-goal will be to determine how these opportunities will benefit Paradox and what needs to be done in order to make it happen. Your job will be to paint a rough picture of a project and hand it over to the relevant stakeholder(s) within Paradox who in turn will execute on the project or idea and in other cases be the ones that takes the project past the finish line.

Your Responsibilities

  • Identify, target and acquire new business opportunities in the games and entertainment industry, primarily (but not only) for White Wolf
  • Meeting with existing or potential partners
  • Closing business deals by coordinating requirements and developing and negotiating contracts
  • Planning, documenting and budgeting in relation to business cases

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of related experience in the gaming industry or gaming related service industry
  • A proven track-record of being able to deliver in a similar role
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Additional Merits

  • Experience of a market or business area not already considered the expertise of Paradox will be considered a strong advantage
  • A proven track record of negotiation
  • Previous experience from licensing brands/ IPs
  • Experience from White Wolf games

On a personal level, the ideal candidate is able to work independently and has an ability to communicate effectively with different audiences on a broad range of topics i.e. technical, business and creative. You are passionate about games and business and are always looking for innovative ways to combine the two.

Practical information

Reports to: VP of Business Development

Start: As soon as possible (Preferably in or before December)

Location: This position is based in Stockholm and will entail travelling
