Head of Marketing Creative

The marketing creative team at Paradox Interactive leads the production of all our marketing assets (including visual guidelines, trailers, ads and storefront assets). The team also plays a key role in setting the tone and style of each brand, and figuring out how to effectively communicate the vision behind each game to our fans.

As leader of the creative team, a team of talented and high-performing creative producers will report directly to you. Your job is to ensure they are equipped and empowered to deliver outstanding work - on time and within budget - across all of their assigned brands. As much of our content is produced by external partners, your work includes responsibility for finding and signing new agencies and freelancers, and then helping your team shepherd their assets through the sometimes unforgiving road of outsourcing canyon.

To succeed in this role, you need to be a skilled people-manager and great motivator who thrives on helping others achieve success. You are a creative soul at heart, but you understand the importance of solid work processes and good forward-planning as integral to the creative process. The nature of marketing games involves interpreting other people’s passions, so making sure your team is equipped to manage feedback and ensure buy-in from stakeholders will be critical to your success.

As a person, you have a lean-in attitude with the capacity to juggle several ongoing projects at once and balance the needs from many different stakeholders. You are results-focused and diplomatic, with a good understanding of how to make different personality types work together.



  • Manage,  grow and develop the skills and expertise of the creative production team, ensuring delivery on KPI targets and to stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Work closely with product marketing management and marketing leadership to ensure each project team has the creative resources and expertise needed to deliver on their goals.
  • Set overall strategy and goals for creative production at Paradox, with particular emphasis on results-focused and data-driven decision making. Ensure buy-in from team and with all stakeholders.
  • Actively develop the creative production discipline, ensuring Paradox Interactive remains a leader in the field. Mentor the team in strategic content from audience, positioning, planning and production perspectives.

Preferred qualifications

  • Several years experience of creative team leadership and creative production within film, television, games or other visual media, either in-house or on the agency side.
  • Driven, entrepreneurial mindset with an ability to get things done and balance the need of multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent English, both written and spoken.
  • A passion for video games and/or a familiarity with Paradox Interactive is a big plus.

On a personal level you have a strong sense of coordination, thriving in a situation where you have a lot on your plate. You have great communication skills and prefer working in a collaborative, cross-team organization without huge egos. You find motivation in making your team members better by providing the support they need. You have the ability to think big but at the same time you’re capable of killing your darlings whenever necessary to find consensus and meet the deadline.
