Experienced C++ Tools Programmer - Clausewitz Engine
Paradox Development Studio is looking to hire a Experienced C++ Tools Programmer for our Clausewitz Engine team, with a focus on helping our teams build better games more efficiently while working in a small team and a collaborative environment. About the Role
As a Grand Strategy Games (GSG) Tech Tools Programmer, you will work on new and user-friendly systems that will empower all our game teams and enable them to develop bigger and better experiences in our grand strategy games. You will get to work on a variety of tools that improve the workflows of all disciplines in our game teams, and the players that mod our games.
As an Experienced C++ Tools Programmer you will…
Brainstorm, help design, implement and support user-friendly and performant tools to be used by all disciplines in our engine and game teams.
Work together with programmers, artists and other disciplines to improve their experiences with our tools and ensure their needs are met.
Work closely with Engine programmers to develop new features in the Clausewitz Engine as required to meet the needs of tools development.
Work directly with the teams developing our existing and new Grand Strategy games such as Stellaris, Crusader Kings 3 and Victoria 3.
Work in an autonomous team to iterate and refine our tools and the Clausewitz engine.
Requirements
Strong understanding of modern C++
Strong ownership and responsibility skills
Passion for developing user-friendly tools and applications
Good profiling, debugging, and optimization skills
Good interpersonal skills for working closely with programmers and other disciplines
Comfortable communicating in English, both written and spoken
Would be really sweet if you also have...
Experience with game and/or game engine development.
Experience in 3D modeling applications and formats.
Experience developing user interfaces and applying UX principles.
Experience with Python.
An interest in strategy games, and in particular the grand strategy games from Paradox, as it will be considered a big plus.
Been actively involved in a modding community, especially for Paradox games.
The ideal candidate has an interest in creating user-focused systems and is driven to iterate and refine so that our team can work with maximum efficiency. It is important to us that you are able to take ownership of the systems and features you work on and to ensure that they are of a high quality and meet the needs of our users. You should be passionate about developing tools that will be used in game development and you should be able to easily adapt to new systems and programming methods. You should be good at co-operating with new groups of people but also able to work independently. As a person you are positive, dedicated, responsible, and love a challenge.

Compensation
We offer competitive monthly salary and salary revision once per year with participation in our company wide profit share program.
