Senior Graphics Specialist
As a Senior Graphics Specialist as part of the Tech & Services team, you will develop new and existing systems in the Clausewitz Engine that powers Paradox Development Studio’s world-class games such as Stellaris, Crusader Kings III, Victoria 3, and exciting unannounced games.
In this role you will…
Brainstorm around and drive design and implementation of the graphical subsystems in our Clausewitz engine and Grand Strategy Games
Work together with programmers and artists to improve their experiences using the engine and ensure their needs are met
Research and develop graphics rendering techniques suitable for Grand Strategy games. This includes both GPU programming through shaders and C++ programming targeting modern graphics APIs
Collaborate directly with the teams developing our existing and new Grand Strategy games
Requirements
Deep knowledge of 3D graphics and GPU technologies, including shaders and shading languages (DirectX 11, DirectX 12, Vulkan, HLSL, GLSL, MSL)
Expert knowledge of modern C++
Experience with multithreading and concurrency
Good profiling, debugging, and optimization skills
Good interpersonal skills for working closely with programmers and other disciplines
Comfortable communicating in English, both written and spoken
Experience in the following is a plus
Strong skills in 3D math, trigonometry
Experience developing graphics on Playstation 5 and XBox X|S
Experience in physically based shading
Experience in creating unique/custom VFX algorithms/approaches
Experience with GPU ray tracing
The right candidate is a senior graphics engineer who is motivated to drive design and development of engine features and write efficient and high-quality code. You will be an important part of the Tech & Services team who work closely with our game teams to deliver robust, efficient and flexible systems that bring our Grand Strategy Games to our fans.
