Experienced 3D Tech Artist [Unity]
Paradox Tectonic seeks a versatile and creative Technical Artist to join the Life by You team. You will work alongside the Art Director, fellow artists, and engineers to help us bring our world and humans to life.
We're looking for an experienced, self-starting tech wiz with a good artistic eye. You will help elevate the visuals and find ways to improve workflow efficiency, provide feedback, and debugging of complex assets. Our ideal candidate brings with them a deep passion for making games and solving challenging problems.
Responsibilities
Provide creative and innovative solutions to technical art problems. Help us make the most beautiful game possible under tough technical constraints.
Work to improve core systems such as Animation, Characters, UI and Environment.
Refine our art production pipeline to help execute our artistic and game vision.
Help with integration of assets into the game engine.
Optimize 3D assets, memory and game performance to help realize artistic and gameplay intentions.
Communicate and collaborate with other development disciplines.
Required Qualifications
At least 3 years of professional Unity game development experience with a good working knowledge of Unity editor scripting / tool development.
Ability to work well in a fluid, changing environment as creative challenges evolve.
Strong skills and experience in software development in Unity3D, and C# or C++.
Strong debugging skills with ability to work in an existing codebase, learn new systems/concepts and implement them quickly and efficiently.
Knowledge and Interest in the following tech-art areas: Shading, Scripting, Lighting, PBR Rendering and Post-Effects, Rigging, Physics, Character IK and UI/UX
Experience profiling performance and memory within Unity. Understanding of GPU pipeline and experience with GPU performance analysis and optimizations.
Self-motivated, structured, proactive, and detail oriented.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Good eye and attention to details.
Experience in the following is a plus
Maya, Blender, ZBrush experience.
Ability to skin meshes to various rigs for video games.
Experience in hard surface or character modeling.
Scope: Full-time and permanent
Can be remote anywhere with in the United States but expected to keep consistent work hours with a team situated in the Bay Area.
Salary Range: 120,000-160,000 USD
Salary range is dependent on experience level, additional skills and location. Candidates must already be eligible to work in the United States.

Compensation
We offer competitive monthly salary and salary revision once per year with participation in our company wide profit share program.
