Do you want to take on the exciting challenge of becoming the first Animator in our team of talented artists at Paradox Arctic?

We’re now looking for an experienced Animator that can take the responsibility for the animations in our in-house projects. You will work with setting up the animation systems, rigs and create animations. Additionally you will manage and direct outsourced animation content.


  • Design and setup animation systems in Unity needed for our games
  • Rig characters and creatures
  • Create, implement and optimize a variety of 3D Animations
  • Find and implement suitable technologies to reach performance target
  • Maintain consistent style under direction of Art Lead and carry out revisions as required
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with other team members
  • Prepare and send material for outsourcing, then give feedback to reach target quality

Required Qualifications

  • A least 3+ years of experience working in the games industry
  • Proficiency in Maya or similar software
  • Experience in working with animations in Unity
  • Strong understanding of key frame animation
  • Skilled at portraying human expressions and emotions.
  • Good skills in rigging and skinning
  • Experience in optimizing animations and rigs

Experience in the following is a plus:

  • Technical art skills
  • Outsourcing animations
  • Facial Rigging
  • 3D Modeling
  • An interest in history and fantasy
  • VFX

Reports to: Art & QA Manager
Location: This position is based in Umeå
