Do you want to be part of shaping the next evolution of Paradox Grand Strategy? We are in development of a brand new non-historical game led by veterans from several of our previous titles such as Hearts of Iron 4 and Crusader Kings 3, going all the way back to Europa Universalis 3.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Game Programmer with a strong C++ background, who understands strategy games and is driven by creating the best experience for the player.
You will be developing features and systems alongside designers and artists and fundamentally shape the games we release. You will have a high level of ownership over your work and it’s important that you can plan and manage it efficiently. We expect you to solve problems and provide guidance in the team using your knowledge. Focusing on player value and in getting things into the game is important to us and we’re motivated by seeing players spend time with our games.
We’re in development of a new Grand Strategy game and our programming team is small and very experienced. The team has a very open atmosphere where you’re encouraged to contribute in all aspects of the game and we regularly discuss technical design, game design and art direction. We’re primarily working from the office and value the collaboration and face to face conversations we can have in person, but we also see benefits in being flexible and being able to work from home.

As a Senior Game Programmer you will…
Build and maintain well-engineered C++ code with high levels of stability and performance.
Design and implement features in multiple areas such as gameplay systems, user interface, graphics, AI, our scripting language and optimization.
Contribute to the growth and development of the programming team in the project and Studio through knowledge sharing and mentoring
Requirements
3+ years of professional experience with C++
Experience working on a game in a team environment
An interest in strategy games
Comfortable communicating with English, both written and spoken
A sense of independence and an ability to take long-term ownership of your features

Compensation
We offer competitive monthly salary and salary revision once per year with participation in our company wide profit share program.
