Paradox Interactive is in a period of fast, global growth and we are looking for a Systems Engineer to help architect, build and administer internal IT platforms to enable the company to scale. You will be part of our small but dedicated IT team, currently consisting of three support technicians, one system administrator and our IT manager.

About the role

Our IT team is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to take responsibility in architecting, scaling and securing our existing and future IT platforms. You will build and maintain our on-premises datacenter environment, as well as forming and implementing a cloud migration strategy for our internal tools and applications.

We believe you have thorough infrastructure knowledge attained from several years of experience from server and infrastructure operations, with a focus on setting up, operating and maintaining virtual environments. You are well versed in the administration and configuration of VMWare, Windows and Linux (Centos, Ubuntu) based server environments. You have experience of cloud based infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and have demonstrable experience in migrating on-premises environments into the cloud and/or managing a hybrid environment.

Other key parts of this role:

  • Capacity planning
  • Configuration management (Puppet, Chef)
  • Backup solutions and routines
  • Logging and monitoring
  • Documentation
  • Project management in leading internal projects
  • Providing third line support to our IT team in cases requiring deeper infrastructural or security expertise

Your background

  • Experience with both physical and virtual hosting environments (VMWare)
  • Comprehensive Linux knowledge
  • An active awareness of best practices in IT security
  • Knowledge of and demonstrable experience of SSO and IAM solutions
  • Actively contribute in automating routines through programming/scripting languages (Python, bash, powershell)

As a person we think you are pragmatic, goal-oriented and service-minded combined with a curious nature. You like helping people and are able to work well both in teams as well as independently. You are thorough and prefer long-term, stable solutions over quick fixes. Furthermore, you are able to take own initiatives and take a proactive approach to ensuring our IT delivery continues to be smooth and efficient as we scale.
