Are you a Game Designer with a broad set of skills that is willing to experiment, come up with own ideas, work with new titles as well as iterate on already existing Paradox games? Then this position may be for you! 

Paradox Arctic is developing Deep, Appealing and Personal games within the management and strategy genre. We are looking for a driven yet humble team member with a growth mindset that will be working on a strategic initiative for Paradox to improve value for the players of Paradox titles. This position enables you to bring in your own ideas on a very experimental and iterative level in close collaboration with the Project Lead.


  • Designing and implementing game content in cooperation with the team 
  • Work closely with the Artists and Programmers to make sure the design is properly implemented according to the specification
  • Design, and balance, basic game systems
  • Research ways to optimize existing Paradox games
  • AB-Testing different gameplay mechanics
  • Defining and communicating what assets are required for the game content 
  • Writing text for in-game content in English that thematically fits within the game
  • Resolving scripting and in-game text bugs and issues in the game files as they arise


Required Qualifications

  • Professional game industry experience (3+ years)
  • Advanced english skills
  • Be able to follow design specifications
  • Ability to translate high-level goals into tangible mechanics & assets
  • Experience with multiple aspects of game design (Working with and optimizing KPIs, System Design, UI Design, Content Design)
  • Interest in management and or strategy games

Since our games are within the strategy and management genres, it’s a big plus if you’ve worked with that before. It will be beneficial for you if you have previous scripting/programming/modding experience and a familiarity with Paradox games, but is not a requirement. Knowledge and passion for the fantasy genre will also be seen as something positive.

This role will entail handling multiple projects and with tasks that don’t necessarily have clear solutions from the start, making a structured approach to time management key. You will be working in a team where everyone supports each other and is given the freedom and responsibility to take charge of a task and deliver.
