3D Artist & Outsourcing Manager

Paradox Arctic is developing Deep, Appealing and Personal games within the Management genre, and we want to fill these with beautiful art! Are you a generalist that enjoys creating environment props and architecture as well as characters? Are you constantly striving towards the best possible quality and wants to get the opportunity to spearhead a 3D Art production?

Paradox Arctic is now looking for a talented 3D Generalist Artist to join our art team in Umeå. You will work together with our Art Lead and Concept Artist to find the right style for the 3D Art in one of our in-house projects. Using the latest tools and rendering techniques you will create 3D Assets that will define the style and set the standard for other artists. You will also manage the outsourcing of 3D Assets and make sure they reach the desired quality.


  • Create high-quality 3D Art for key assets, both for content and to use as benchmarks.
  • Oversee 3D Art assets all the way from planning and estimation to creation and implementation.
  • Plan and send outsourcing orders.
  • Feedback on outsourcing deliveries to make sure the ordered assets reach the required quality.
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with other team members

Required qualifications

  • At least 3+ years of experience working in the games industry
  • Experience of art outsourcing, like giving feedback on deliveries
  • Strong proficiency in Maya and Photoshop
  • Expert on the Substance tools
  • Experience with the PBR shading pipeline
  • Proficiency in Zbrush or equivalent
  • Experience with the PBR shading pipeline
  • An interest in both historical and fantasy art
  • Experience in guiding and giving feedback to other artists
  • Fluency in English both written and spoken

Bonus qualifications

  • Experience with Marvelous Designer
  • 2D art/sketching skills
  • Technical art skills
  • Knowledge of scripting
  • Unity experience
  • A passion for management games
