User Research Manager - Paradox Interactive

The User Research Manager is a leadership position reporting to the Insights Manager. As a member of the User Research team, you are responsible for leading research efforts that help Paradox build games that players will love.


  • Manage Paradox’s User Research team, a central team tasked with supporting all Paradox products and services. Coach, mentor and develop staff, provide career development planning and opportunities. Work with HR to interview, select, hire and employ User Researchers.
  • Maintain the schedule for research activities, with support from the team’s Administrator
  • Oversee how research findings are communicated throughout the organization
  • Coach researchers: review their work; provide actionable feedback and nurture their innovative and creative thinking when they approach research challenges
  • Ensure that the team's structure and deliverables continue to fit with the organization’s evolving needs
  • Formalize how user researchers and data scientists work together in order to provide deeper insights 
  • Manage research vendors and consultants to ensure high quality deliverables that suit the needs of internal stakeholders.

Required qualifications

  • 3+ years in a leadership position with demonstrated excellence leading an internal services team to accomplish business goals
  • Solid interpersonal skills, with a track-record of building and sustaining internal and external partnerships. 
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience conducting user experience research or similar. Deep knowledge of multiple research techniques and being a knowledge-base for the team.
  • Experience having worked with Games or other similar interactive entertainment products.
  • At least a Bachelor's degree in experimental psychology, human computer interaction, behavioral science, or a related field.
