Do you want to make a big difference at a small studio? Do the thoughts of systems driven game design and creative leadership get you excited? You just might be the person we are looking for.

Paradox Malmö is looking for a Game Director for an unannounced project. As a matter of fact, the project will probably not be announced for quite some time because it hasn’t even entered pre-production yet. The person we are searching for can look forward to playing a key role in designing this brand new game from the ground up and the direction they provide will shape the vision for the entire Paradox Malmö Studio. It’s nothing short of a once in a lifetime opportunity!

As a game director at Paradox, you are instrumental in maintaining vision and quality for the game you are working on and will work closely with the Project Lead, Tech Lead, and Product Managers. The Game Director creates and owns the vision for gameplay mechanics, systems design, and overall quality while leading a group of designers to make sure everyone is working together towards the same goal.


  • Own the Game design direction and vision
  • Collaborate with the Artists and Programmers to make sure the design is properly implemented according to the specification
  • Lead and support a team of game designers to achieve desired vision and deliver a game that lives up to the high standards of Paradox and our fans
  • Work closely with publishing stakeholders to ensure that game direction meets segment owners expectations and Paradox game pillars
  • Prioritize, balance budget and plan features together with Project Lead, Tech Lead and Product Managers
  • Champion the project internally and externally


  • Industry veteran that has shipped several acclaimed titles in a leading design or director role
  • Inspiring leader with a proven track record of enabling game teams to achieve success
  • Approachable and diplomatic person who can delve into details without losing sight of the bigger picture
  • Effective communicator, skilled at reaching consensus in an interdisciplinary team of subject matter experts with an excellent command of English
