We are now looking for a Cloud Operations Manager to work in the DevOps department. The DevOps department is developing and operating the Paradox Ecosystem which provides a variety of services and products to Paradox’s various Game Studios. These products and services include the Paradox Account service, Paradox Mods, cross-platform multiplayer, social/player features (leaderboards, cloud saves, forums, etc.), the Paradox Store, the Paradox Game SDK, and much more!

As the Cloud Operations Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Paradox online services platform and it’s continued uptime. You will be heading up our Automation team as their Product Owner and hold the team responsible for ensuring that all systems and services remain at agreed SLAs and are in turn held accountable to by our VP of Technology. You will be working closely with the DevOps Technical Director who will verify/steer technical direction.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all services remain online and available to customers around the world as close to a 100% uptime as possible.
  • Regularly inspect and verify the integrity and security of the platform and it’s various APIs and endpoints, advising teams on how to increase security.
  • Continuously optimize scalability in cost, performance, as well as the vendors we partner with for services.
  • Ensuring environments and services are properly monitored and reported on in dashboards and other channels.
  • Maintain a tested and valid disaster recovery plan.
  • Maintain an updated diagram and documentation of the Paradox ecosystem and platform.
  • Formalize and educate teams on best practices and processes for creating new services, requesting infrastructure changes, etc.
  • Cater to the needs of the development teams to provide tools and automation on building, deploying, and rolling back services and code changes.
  • Curate and prioritize the backlog of the DevOps Automation team.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate a service-minded approach to situations.
  • Knowledge and experience in infrastructure and automation.
  • Experience with containers and container orchestration (such as Kubernetes).
  • Experience using infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience working in CI/CD environments

Your role in a team is flexible and can include being the one who identifies viable solutions and implements appropriate solutions, as well as mentor others. Your English communication skills, both verbal and oral, are excellent and are backed by patience in taking the time to understand others as well as in explaining yourself.
