About the role

As the Product Segment Owner at Paradox Interactive, you are the strategic leader charged with the long-term planning of a segment of the portfolio. You are also managing a team of Product Managers charged with the delivery of the games within the Grand Strategy segment.

Focused on the Grand Strategy genre, you are expected to use resources at your disposal to study the market and its evolution to create the long-term planning for the segment in order to achieve the company’s financial and strategic targets.

The role works very closely with the business development teams in order to identify new games as well as development studios to partner with and does the ground work on new ventures until a dedicated Product Manager can be assigned to them.

Responsibilities

  • Being the expert in Grand Strategy games past, present and future, and staying up to date on developments of the market and player needs to make sure the genre continues to evolve with them
  • Build and execute on the business plan for the segment
  • Building and execution of the long-term plans for the segment, with contributions from all major departments
  • Management, support and recruitment of a team of Product Managers
  • Working closely with the Business Development teams to identify promising new games and studios who would fit the Paradox pillars and portfolio
  • Working closely with Studio Managers of internal development studios to ensure delivery and quality of the planned titles
  • Taking potential new products through the Greenlight Process and acting as product managers until a dedicated PM can be assigned to them
  • Building and maintaining healthy relationships with both internal partners and external development partners
  • Acting as the bridge and the interface between the product teams and Paradox senior management

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management, Portfolio Management, Game Production or similar field
  • Strong understanding of game publishing and development processes
  • Experience in business development is a plus
  • Passion for PDX Grand Strategy games is a strong plus
  • Team Management experience is a strong plus
  • Fluent in English both spoken and written is required
