Do you want to make a big difference at a small studio? Paradox is on an ambitious journey to explore and expand on Grand Strategy Games, a genre we invented and want to take to new heights. To do this, we are looking for a UI Artist in Malmö to help make sure our games look great and feel intuitive to play.

As a UI Artist at Paradox you will be helping us ease the learning curve of deep and complex strategy games on a grand scale. You will be the bridge between our UX and 2D art team and be responsible for implementing wireframe designs into the game engine, making sure the UI looks great and is accessible and easy to understand for the player.

On a personal level, our ideal candidate is passionate about our games, good at solving problems and able to work independently. You are humble and take on small tasks with the same vigor as you do the big, juicy tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Visual development of UI mockups to help establish UI style for various projects
  • Collaborating with the team to design, create, implement and optimize UI assets.
  • Maintain consistent style under the direction of the Art Director and carry out revisions as required
  • You will also contribute to the development of in-house UI tools and processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional experience as a UI artist or equivalent with a portfolio to show it
  • Demonstrate good use of typography, composition and color
  • Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator skills
  • Fluency in English both written and spoken
  • Familiarity with and/or interest in Paradox Grand Strategy Games

If you have experience with Adobe After Effects, user-testing or any kind of programming that will be beneficial, but is not a requirement.
