We are now looking for a QA Lead to work as part of our Mods team in the DevOps department. The DevOps department is responsible for the Paradox Ecosystem which provides a variety of services and products to Paradox’s various Game Teams and Game Studios. These products and services include the Paradox Account service, Paradox Mods, cross-platform multiplayer, social/player features (leaderboards, cloud saves, forums, etc.), the Paradox Store, the Paradox Game SDK, and much more!

Embedded within our Mods Team and based in our Stockholm Office, you will be responsible for the creation, maintenance and enforcement of a modern, automated, testing strategy and framework. 

You will also lead a small team of remote QA Testers, who will aid you in developing this strategy and framework which will be robust, applicable throughout the entire development process, and will cover functionality, usability, performance, design and compatibility testing.

This is a new role within the department and we expect the successful candidate to be proactive, able to constructively communicate concerns and work within deadlines. The candidate will also be expected to actively promote this strategy (and accompanying framework) to other Teams within the department and to the department as a whole.

What you will be doing:

  • Creating, maintaining and enforcing a modern, automated, testing strategy for web and native applications (Windows/OSX/Linux, Xbox, Playstation)
  • Managing and maintaining E2E test strategy for related projects.
  • Managing and maintaining smoke tests in collaboration with the Product Owner.
  • Coordinating a small team of remote QA Testers (2-3 people).
  • Participating in code reviews to ensure code changes have acceptable test coverage.

What we need to see:

  • Documented experience of building automated testing frameworks.
  • 3+ years QA software testing.
  • 1+ year leading a team of testers, developers, or similar experience.
  • Solid understanding of modern testing strategies.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with SauceLabs and/or TestCafe.
  • Experience writing and running load/stress tests.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the Scrum framework.
  • Experience with JavaScript and/or Python
  • Experience with Xbox and/or Playstation testing methods

We believe you are a service-minded, driven, and explorative individual; You are comfortable with solving problems and working autonomously within a group. Your role in a team is flexible and can include being the one who identifies viable solutions and implements appropriate solutions, as well as mentoring others. Your English communication skills are excellent. You have patience, taking time to understand others as well as in explaining yourself.
