Role
As the Head of Platforms, you will be responsible for setting the strategic and operational direction for two key technology teams: Build, Automation & Test, and Infrastructure. Your primary goal is to deliver a resilient, scalable, and efficient development platform and cloud infrastructure that power Paradox’s games and services.
This is a hands-on leadership position that blends technical guidance with team and process management. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, engineers, and key stakeholders to drive ongoing enhancements, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security across both development and production environments.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Provide leadership, guidance, and development opportunities for both the Build, Automation & Test team and the Infrastructure team.
Take ownership of cloud infrastructure operations and strategic oversight.
Lead architectural decisions focused on ensuring scalability, high availability, cost efficiency, and robust security across cloud environments/platforms.
Play an active role in shaping strategy and planning as part of the Central Tech & Services leadership team.
Partner closely with other departments to maintain adherence to data protection regulations and cloud governance standards.
Establish and uphold comprehensive security protocols and operational procedures for cloud services.
Manage and optimize cloud expenditures, while overseeing Platform Services budgeting, vendor negotiations, and contract management.
Qualifications:
Must-Have:
Demonstrated success in leading high-performing technical teams within DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), infrastructure, and/or build automation domains.
Deep expertise in continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) systems.
Practical experience with cloud infrastructure, (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP).
Well-versed in automated testing frameworks and tools.
Exceptional leadership abilities with strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience in the games industry or with game development.
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools and automation (e.g. Terraform).
Understanding of observability tools and monitoring frameworks (e.g. Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
Exposure to container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker).
