Managing Tech Lead
Studio Gold, the house of Hearts of Iron, the grand strategy wargame with a thriving community of over a million monthly players, is looking to level up. To uphold the lofty standards set by our dedicated players and help build new and bigger things, we are in search of a Managing Tech Lead.
As the managing tech lead you will join and grow a team of dedicated developers that, in addition to building features for current titles, will also grow & help build the next generation of games. As a lead at Paradox you will have the opportunity for both practical engineering, developing your leadership skills and making great games!
Your role…
Through pro-active involvement in practical engineering and adept guidance, the Tech Lead plays a pivotal role in steering the team through technical hurdles with finesse. They cultivate the expansion of the codebase, offer support to programmers, and maintain adherence to the project's vision and roadmap. This collective endeavor is dedicated to building & releasing while minimizing technical setbacks.
Key-responsibilities:
Managing the programming team
Define the technical vision for the game, setting clear technical objectives that support the creative vision and product roadmap.
Drive enhancements to the game, working with the existing codebase to ensure implementation of the game vision with optimal performance.
Your role will include collaboration with other managers on the project to remove blockers, keep production moving forward, and balance technical decisions within the project leadership team. You will also be supporting and developing efficient technical solutions to gameplay problems and keeping an eye on performance & stability as well as (time permitting) practically implementing features and systems as needed. You will be expected to work proactively with your responsibilities and as this is a multilayered role, be able to prioritize among your tasks.
Requirements
Solid C++ experience
Experience leading a team
An interest in strategy games in general and Paradox grand strategy games in particular
Comfortable communicating with English, both written and spoken
